Bozeman Library’s second ‘SymBozium’ delves into immigration at Emerson
The Bozeman Public Library is presenting the second event in its civil discourse series, SymBozium, to engage the community in respectful and productive conversation around complex controversial topics. Each of the SymBozium events will be a moderated forum with subject-matter experts and an opportunity for audience participation. The second event will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, April 2nd at the Emerson Center’s Crawford Theater.
The second event topic is “The Economics of Immigration: Boon or Bust?” The panel will be moderated by Nancy Chen, executive coach and leadership facilitator with guest speakers George J. Borjas, Professor of Economics and Social Policy at Harvard Kennedy School; Andrew Greenfield, immigration attorney and managing partner of Fragomen Worldwide’s Washington D.C. office; and Bridget Kevane, Professor of Latin American and Latino Studies at Montana State University.
“We were thrilled with the response to our first SymBozium event last fall with over 300 attendees. We have so many engaged citizens in our community that appreciated a forum for civil discourse,” said Susan Gregory, Library Director.

SymBozium is made possible by the following sponsors: The Kendeda Fund, Bozeman Public Library Foundation, NorthWestern Energy, Entropy Brands, Holding Ground Architects, Yellowstone Public Radio, and Bozeman Daily Chronicle in addition to many private citizens that donated to support the series.
SymBozium is free and open to the public. Space is limited and registration is recommended at www.symbozium.org.
