Norris Hot Springs is a place to soak and relax, but it’s also a great live music venue with a rotating schedule of performers. February is no different!
Coyote Gypsies will play Sunday, February 21st. Southwest Montana’s eclectic Klezmer band offers Eastern European folk music with a Western edge. Where the Old World meets the New West, they play howlin’ good music. The Coyote Gypsies duo: Mark Schlenz, violin and Jane Freeburg, accordion with guitar, bass and percussion. Neil Filo Beddow will take the stage Friday, February 26th. He plays original folk rock for the soul, and describes his guitar style as the West Dakota stutter–his lyrically scrambled iambic pentameter can be politically bent, spiritually seeking, tongue in cheek humorous with just a twist of serious. Bozeman’s Shea Stewart will bring the live entertainment on Saturday, February 27th. Stewart performs a distinctive blend of “stripped-down” acoustic blues and Americana. His soundtrack to the beauty of the hot springs and wetland go perfectly hand in hand. Shea always gets a great crowd.
Lang Termes will close out the month with a performance on Sunday, February 28th. Lang Termes grew up with a visual artist father and spent summers touring with his puppeteer mother. He was surrounded by artists, musicians, writers, and performers of all description from the day he was born. He has been playing professionally most of his life. His vocal style ranges from mellow folk ballads to growling boogie blues. Lang’s style of song writing, both original music and lyrics, comes deep from the heart, or in some cases, bubbles up from his whimsical sense of irony. His selection of covers ranges from early country blues to the full gambit of contemporary classics. Lang plays music in a wide variety of styles. Some of his biggest influences include: Muddy Waters, Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Huddie (Ledbelly) Ledbetter, Townes Van Zandt, John Lee Hooker, Tom Waits, Greg Brown and Josh Ritter.
Norris Hot Springs is located outside of Norris, Montana off of route 84. Every performance starts at 7 pm. Cover is $9 and includes a hot dip in the pool. •
