Stream indie cinema from home in support of BFS
In an effort to bring film lovers and shuttered theaters together during this unprecedented time, movie distributors are virtually streaming a slate of current titles and splitting ticket revenue with Bozeman Film Society.
Watch safely at home with new titles added weekly. Streaming sales directly support BFS. Here’s a look at a few July options.
Tommaso is available through July 2nd. Playing opposite director Abel Ferrara’s own wife and daughter, Willem Dafoe is an American artist living in Rome with his young European wife Nikki and their 3-year-old daughter, Dee Dee, in this improvised drama of doubt and disconnection. A New York Times Critics Pick, Tommaso is Not Rated with a runtime of 115 minutes.
Directed by Dawn Porter, John Lewis: Good Trouble is available July 3rd–17th. The film uses a combination of verité and archival footage with the Congressman’s own words to explore how the ghosts of the past motivate Lewis’ actions of the present. Viewers are there as Lewis goes about his current work and activism, and we will look back to the harrowing past that shaped him. A timely documentary, John Lewis: Good Trouble is Rated PG with a runtime of 96 minutes.
The Tabacconist will be available July 9th–23rd. Based on the international bestseller by Robert Seethaler, this is a tender, heartbreaking story about a young man who takes a job at a Viennese tobacconist shop where he meets renowned professor Sigmund Freud (Bruno Ganz in his final performance.) Fascinated by his theories, Franz seeks Freud’s advice after falling in love with a dancer. The Tabacconist is Not Rated with a runtime of 101 minutes.
