Enjoy a FREE birthday soak at Norris Hot Springs!
It’s your birthday? Soak free at Norris Hot Springs! Bring some friends and let them buy you a local craft beer, glass of wine, champagne or your non-alcoholic beverage of choice. Tuck into a mound of cheesy nachos with local beef and Hot Mama’s salsa or share a pizza with toppings grown in the on-site garden. Feeling a little more solitary on your birthday? That’s fine, too. Grab a pool noodle and have a little float reminiscent of your time in utero.
Looking for a way to get out into nature and enjoy some of the best that Montana has to offer? Look no further than the Hot Springs. Just 35 miles east of Bozeman, Norris offers a 38,000 gallon, wood-lined pool filled daily with mineral-rich, hot springs water for your soaking pleasure. The pool is fed by artesian springs flowing in at a rate of 60 gallons per minute. The hot water burbles up to the surface of the earth at a scalding 120 degrees (on average) and is cooled to a comfortable temperature for soaking. Norris staff empties the pool nightly. Emptying the pool also lets the customer know when it is time to leave. The pool gets refilled daily, except on Tuesdays when the wooden planks get pressure-washed.
Norris Hot Springs’ artesian water provides a balm for the body and the mind now that fall weather brings a chill to the air. Relax and unwind. If you want a chance to enjoy the water without the crowds, come when the pool opens at 10am on Saturday and Sunday, or 4pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday.
And if you prefer a more social soak with live music, be sure to show up on weekend evenings Friday through Sunday for “Live from the Dome” music beginning at 7pm. Local, regional and nationally known musicians grace the poolside stage providing genuine entertainment for a $2 cover.

Kristin Lundell
Kristin Lundell opens a new month of music on Friday, November 1st. The local singer/songwriter and guitarist performs catchy, melodic rock originals inspired by the likes of Veruca Salt, Juliana Hatfield, and The Beatles. She’ll also have the audience singing along as she puts her spin on hits that span the decades.
Raven Roshi performs on Saturday, November 2nd. He creates an original, ethereal indie folk sound that teases transportation into the mystic. Cerebral with a hint of counter-culture blues, deeply emotive, hypnotic at times, and always laying down a chill vibe. Born from poetry of the earth. Beatniks, philosophers, lost lovers and mischievous mountain sages dance in and out of lyrics. Original songs are written and performed by Bozeman-based Charles Wolf Drimal on Spanish guitar, harmonica, and foot tambourine. He’s often accompanied by Chris Jenkins on lead guitar and occasionally other supreme musicians.
JEB follows on Sunday, November 3rd. The local singer/songwriter, guitarist and producer brings his vibrant, red hair persona to his indie pop and hip-hop inspired dance music. His debut single, “This L Is On Me,” released in April.
Enjoy the talents of Headwaters on Friday, November 8th. The duo plays acoustic blues in the manner of Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt and other blues legends. Art Butler drives the music on the resonator. Phil Cohea plays rhythm guitar, harmonica and vocals for that genuine juke joint sound.
Logan Dudding takes the stage on Saturday, November 9th. Logan is a Butte resident, known for his work with the Chad Ball and Red Mountain bands as a percussionist. Now honing his guitar skills, he’s enjoying putting on solo acoustic performances, covering favorite songs and showing off a few originals. Help welcome him back!
Roots rock duo Acoustic Roll will entertain on Sunday, November 10th. Comprised of Rod Morrison and Mike Voeller, they’ll bring their guitar and percussion based acoustic music to the poolside stage. Expect to hear mellow sounds from the 60s and 70s (Stones, Beatles, Clapton, James Taylor, The Who, Dylan, Young) mixed with tasty jams and original tunes.
Dan Henry is set for Friday, November 15th. The Montana native is a singer/songwriter with a unique vocal style coupled with acoustic guitar and bluesy harmonica. He’s driven by a blues influence, but covers a wide range of music from folk and rock to reggae, and so much more.
Aran Buzzas returns on Saturday, November 16th. Calling his music “Homegrown Montana Folky Tonk,” Aran performs songs that are easy to relate to, often amusing, and frequently with a regional backdrop.
Christy Hays graces the audience with a Sunday show on November 17th. Hays’ music has folk and country tinges, thoughtfully penned stories and a full band sound that’s both driving alt country and moody folk rock. Compared to Brandi Carlile, Lucinda Williams, Rhett Miller, Kathleen Edwards and Patty Griffin, she has a sound uniquely her own. She’s shared the stage with Hayes Carll, Sturgil Simpson, Bruce Robison, Kelly Willis and Jeffery Foucault to name a few. River Swimmer, Hays’ third full-length and fifth release overall, brings the culmination of her influences and experiences traveling the world. The album is available now.
