Punk Rock Showcase on Friday, August 16th at the RIALTO theatre
Songwriting masters Steve Earle, James McMurtry showcase talents at Rialto

Downtown Bozemanโs Rialto Theater features loads of fantastic live entertainment for music-lovers this and every month. Hereโs a look at just a few of the upcoming happenings.
Returning to the Rialto on Sunday, August 11th, is legendary tunesmith James McMurtry with support from Bonnie Whitmore at 8:30pm. General admission tickets to this 18+ show are $26. Doors at 7:30pm.
McMurtry continues to ride waves of universal acclaim for his last offering, Complicated Game. โAt a stage where most veteran musicians fall into a groove or rut, McMurtry continues to surprise,โ Texas Music magazine noted. โ[Complicated Game] is a collection of narratives as sharply observed as any from McMurtry, but with a contemplative depth that comes with maturity.โ Indeed, the Austin residentโs latest collection spotlights a singular craftsman as he turns inward (โThese Things Iโve Come to Know,โ โYou Got to Meโ). โThe lyrical theme is mostly about relationships,โ McMurtry says. โItโs also a little about the big old world verses the poor little farmer or fisherman.โ
McMurtry tours year round and consistently throws down unparalleled powerhouse performances. The Washington Post notes: โMuch attention is paid to James McMurtryโs lyrics and rightfully so: He creates a novelโs worth of emotion and experience in four minutes of blisteringly stark couplets. What gets overlooked, however, is that heโs an accomplished rock guitar player […] serious stuff, imparted by a singularly serious band.โ
Check out a Punk Rock Showcase on Friday, August 16th. The evening will include sets by The Lucitones, Gรถners รK, Death Trophy and Pop Violence with the music beginning at 9pm. Tickets to this 18+ show are $10. Doors at 8pm.
Formed in Whitefish, The Lucitones have created their own stripe of hard-driving rockabilly influenced punk rock. Following their debut EP Demolition in 2017, the trio have released an eponymous full-length and this springโs follow-up, Three Moons. The Lucitones stick to the roots keeping rock nโ roll raw and dangerous.
Gรถners is a punk rock band based in Bozeman. Influenced by everything from world topics to personal bouts, these five fellas bring along their own brand of fast paced, progressive, rock nโ roll with a punk rock attitude and energy.
Death Trophy is as if all your bad decisions manifested into four dirty dudes and started practicing in your garage, paying you a middle finger for rent. This four-man Bozeman outfit is known for its no-frills punk rock, bringing its true essence back to the stage and making it dangerous again.
Pop Violence is a gloomy punk band from Missoula.
The Rialto is located at 10 W Main St. in the center of historic Downtown Bozeman. Peruse current happenings and buy advance tickets at www.logjampresents.com/rialto. Follow the Rialto on Facebook and Instagram for the most up to date event announcements. โข
