The outdoor performance space at Bozeman Hot Springs has become a go-to for live music lovers, whether the sun is shining or the raindrops are falling. The venue features a poolside stage with weekly showcases of regional and traveling acts every Thursday and Sunday at 7pm. Enjoy the area’s best musicians this month.
Kicking things off on September 1st are Cole & the Thornes. The mountain-island-infused soul band is a modern funk group that blends sultry vocals, gypsy-jazz guitar, playful horn melodies and reggae-style ukulele for a truly unique sound. Check out their new album, Unbound, now.
Soulbots follow on Sept. 5th. Comprised of Paul and Erin Ezikiel, the indie dance pop duo brings a fun, energetic show everywhere they play. Their sets include originals they’ve written throughout their years of performing as well as some covers sprinkled throughout.
Check out Roadrunner on Sept. 8th. Featuring guitarist Tyler James, Andrew Miscoe on keys, drummer Bob Johnson, and bassist Max Eaton, the foursome brings the music of the Jerry Garcia Band to life!
The talented Bryson Evans takes the stage on Sept. 12th. The rootsy singer/songwriter’s music is a unique blend of his many influences including Hank Williams, Tom Waits and The Allman Brothers, to name a few. His songs are about real life – hard work, lessons learned, love, loss, pain, good times and bad. With roots in Classic Country and Americana, Evans intermixes happy tunes with sad truths in a way that bring audiences to their feet while simultaneously bringing them to tears.
Enjoy the sounds of Sleeping Jesus on Sept. 15th. The five-piece Minneapolis rock band released their latest album, Hollywood Smile, last year. The collection sees the band dipping their toes into the waters of rock n’ roll and Americana, with their live shows consisting of jangly dueling guitars, three party harmony, tight locked rhythm, and intense moments of controlled chaos.
Kennan Krause entertains on Sept. 19th. The frontman of local rock group Lost Canyons, Krause brings a unique alt-rock sound with a healthy mix of recognizable covers and original tunes from the full band’s shows.
A visiting favorite, John Roberts y Pan Blanco, perform on Sept. 22nd. Featuring vocals in Spanish, English and Portuguese, the group melds high-energy Funk, African and Latin grooves with soulful instrumental solos aimed at sharing musical and cultural diversity with its audiences.
Solidarity Service close out another month of live music on Sept. 29th. Performing funky rock and reggae, the group is a big band with a big sound. Featuring the songwriting of Mike DeJaynes, lush and lovely harmonies, and a groovin’ rhythm section, Solidarity Service is guaranteed to fill the dance floor. Expect to hear and experience conscious lyrics and poly-rhythmic poetry, crazy covers, and well-crafted originals.
