Muir Quartet readies string of spring performances
Montana Chamber Music Society will present three Muir String Quartet engagements at month’s end. Please join for a trio of wonderful evenings featuring the talents of cellist Michael Reynolds and violist Steven Ansell alongside violinists Peter Zazofsky and Lucia Lin, as well as appearances by guest artist Alexander Fiterstein. The programs will showcase incredible instrumentals from these virtuosos – a perfect segue into spring!
First, the Grammy-winning ensemble bring back-to-back performances to Reynolds Recital Hall on the Montana State University campus. The Wednesday, March 27th program will feature Mozart’s Quartet in D minor, K. 421, Amlin Quartet and Ravel Quartet. The following evening, Thursday, March 28th, will see performances of the Barber Quartet, Schubert Quartet in A minor, D. 804, and Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet with a special appearance by Alexander Fiterstein. The music begins at 7:30pm both nights.
Following Saturday, March 30th, the Muir Quartet heads to Livingston’s Shane Lalani Center for the Arts. They will perform the Barber Quartet, Schubert Quartet in A minor, D. 804, and Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet, again with Fiterstein.
In its 40th season, the Muir String Quartet has long been acknowledged as one of the world’s most powerful and insightful ensembles, distinguishing itself among audiences and critics with its “exhilarating involvement” (Boston Globe),“impeccable voicing and intonation” (San Francisco Examiner), and “unbridled musicality” (American Record Guide).
Admission to all Montana Chamber Music Society performances is $27 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased at www.montanachambermusicsociety.org.
