Tyler Hall gets NBA shot
by Danny Waldo
Former MSU men’s basketball standout Tyler Hall flirted with his NBA dreams following his junior year in 2018, declaring for the NBA Draft, and even reportedly participating in pre-draft workouts with the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks.
However, the feedback he received following those workouts led him to withdraw his name from the draft and opt to return to MSU for his senior season, putting his NBA dreams on hold, if only for a year.
Hall will finally get his shot at making it in the ‘League’ after being added to the Chicago Bulls summer league team recently. Hall, a Rock Island, Illinois native worked out for the Bulls on June 11th before being added to their summer roster. Chicago is slated to play four summer league games, beginning with a contest versus the Los Angeles Lakers on July 5th in Las Vegas.
Hall wrapped up his illustrious career with the Bobcats by leading MSU to its first win in the Big Sky Conference tournament since 2009, and rewriting the record books in the process. Hall left Bozeman as the most prolific scorer in Bobcat and Big Sky Conference history, finishing his career with 2,518 points, good for No. 62 on the all-time scoring list in NCAA Division I history. Hall also broke the Big Sky Conference three-point mark by knocking down 431 triples in his career.
Hall finished his senior campaign for the Bobcats by averaging 20.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. His next goal will be to parlay his summer league invite into a training camp invite with the Bulls beginning in September.
