JAKE JOHANNSEN returns to The Ellen Theatre on Saturday, October 7 at 8 PM for his third visit. Johannsen was a favorite on Late Show with David Letterman, appearing over 40 times and has been a guest on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Politically Incorrect, and more. Jake’s HBO comedy special This’ll Take About an Hour earned rave reviews and a Cable Ace Award nomination for Best Writing in an Entertainment Special. People Magazine rated it as one of the “ten best television shows of the year,” and TV Guide named the special one of the “50 All-time Funniest Moments of TV.” The show is recommended for ages 15 and up. Thursday, October 19 is thrilling with a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1943 psychological mystery/drama SHADOW OF A DOUBT. Written by Thorton Wilder, Sally Benson, and Alma Reville, the film stars Teresa Wright as teenager Charlie Newton whose Uncle, and namesake, Charles Oakley (Joseph Cotton) arrives for a visit, but her uncle’s strange behavior causes young Charlie to think there may be suspicious activity occurring behind closed doors. Shadow of a Doubt is Rated PG and runs for 108 minutes. The film begins at 7:30 PM and all seats are just $5.00.
60s legend KARLA BONOFF has always had a passion for music, evident in her early commitment to songwriting at age fifteen, and she’s bringing that passion to Bozeman on Friday, October 20. In addition to forming her own band Bryndle, Bonff has been associated with artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd, Kenny Edwards, John Prine, J.D. Souther and most famously Linda Ronstadt. In 1990, she wrote the song, “All My Life,” recorded by Ronstadt and Aaron Neville, which went on to win the Grammy for Best Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. Tickets are $25.50 and the music begins at 8 PM.
On Saturday, October 21, the Zmed Brothers bring the genuine and youthful EVERLY BROTHERS EXPERIENCE to the stage. Zachary and Dylan Zmed celebrate the genetic intimacy so ever present in the harmonies created by Don and Phil. A new month kicks off with the return of an Ellen Classic THE GODFATHER on Friday, November 3 at 7:30 PM. The Godfather is a 1972 American crime film directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It chronicles the transformation of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), youngest son of Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando), from reluctant family outsider to ruthless mafia boss.
