Hot Springs songsters include Leif Christian, soulful DASH duo
After soaking up the remaining rays from a warm summer sunset, relax in the waters of Bozeman Hot Springs. The local destination for residents and visitors is also home to weekly live music from the pool-adjacent stage. Regional and traveling musicians perform on regular Thursday and Sunday nights at 7pm. Here’s a look at who’s coming up.
Bozeman-based singer/songwriter Leif Christian is next up on Thursday, July 18th. The lead singer and guitarist of the funk rock trio Ticket Sauce, he plays a wide variety of music from blues and folk to funk and groove tunes. Being able to adjust his show to fit any given crowd, Christian’s shows are something that can be enjoyed by all audiences. Being a great after-party or alternative to Music on Main, this isn’t going to be a show that should be missed.
Sunday, July 21st, sees the return of Bozeman’s newest instrumental-based funk outfit, Good Clean Funk. The band fuses funk and jazz for a truly groovy experience. Comprised of Port Nugget on guitar, Kyle Allemeier on bass, and Griffin Dittmar on drums, this trio has become a staple at a few local venues and serves as the house band for Colonel Black’s every Thursday night. The Hot Springs show will surely feature some good, clean fun with Good Clean Funk.
Take in a DASH Duo performance on Thursday, July 25th. The biggest newcomers to the Bozeman music scene in 2018, DASH puts on a rocking fun show consisting of a healthy blend of covers and originals. With their first studio album Super and spring follow-up EP Desperate Electric, the band has taken Montana by storm. Playing a more laid back, duo show, the lead singers Kayti Korte and Ben Morris always impress.
The high-energy groove machine Something & the Anything closes out another fantastic month of live music on Sunday, July 28th with their blend of psychedelic rock and progressive funk. A completely instrumental trio that consists of Chris Cowan on guitar, Nathan Bennett on bass, and Justin Ditienne on drums, these guys take every listener on a musical journey. Every performance is unique with this trio, so every show sounds like something you’ve never heard before.
