
The Montana Outdoor Science School (MOSS) has announced 1-day, 2-day, 4-day, or full 5-day outdoor science programs to keep your kids active and engaged during spring break. This is not a babysitting service!
They will learn, have FUN doing it, and get outside. Taught by MOSS instructors using MOSS curriculum. Winter and Beyond: Water, Ice, and Snow is set to take place Monday, March 14th through Friday, March 18th from 9am-3:30pm daily. Cost for this program is $60 per day. Join MOSS to investigate and observe water as a solid, a liquid, and a gas. Use hands-on experiences and inquiry based learning to answer these questions: Grades K-2: How does water change from a solid to a liquid to a gas? Where (and when) can we see these changes in nature? Come and find out! Grades 3-5: Where do we find water on Earth? How does water change from one state to another? Did you know that the water cycle includes snow? Options for Registration (K-5): Monday & Tuesday: Water, $120. Wednesday: Ice, $60. Thursday & Friday: Snow, $120. Entire week: $50 DISCOUNT=$250. NEW! Grades 6-8: How does water affect the geography of the Gallatin Valley? Discover what it would be like to live on a frozen planet and explore how physiological needs change in freezing temperatures. Be prepared to travel off-site every day to have fun and learn! Options for Registration (6-8): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: Winter and Beyond, $180. *Thursday & Friday: 2 Full days including Overnight Expedition, $150. Entire week: $30 DISCOUNT=$300. *Camp hours for the overnight are: Drop-off at 9am Thursday morning, pick-up @ 3:30pm Friday afternoon. MOSS will provide Thursday night’s dinner, as well Friday’s breakfast, lunch, and snacks. An agenda and packing list will be provided upon registration. MOSS is dedicated to promoting an awareness, understanding and appreciation of the natural world through quality educational experiences. MOSS teaches kids and adults about the outdoors and the environment through hands-on, experiential learning. It uses the outdoors as its classroom! Their summer camps allow kids an in-depth opportunity to learn about nature, particularly our own unique backyard! In-school programs, taught to current curriculum standards, help children develop their scientific inquiry and learning skills.
