Fresh off their second consecutive Big Sky Conference regular season basketball championship, and first trip to the NCAA tournament since 1993, the Montana State University women’s basketball team is trying to maintain the excitement around the program by hosting their first-ever School Day Game.
On Wednesday, November 29th, the MSU women will welcome the University of Wyoming to Brick Breeden Fieldhouse for an 11:00 a.m. tip-off that should include a larger-than-normal home court advantage thanks to the hundreds of Gallatin Valley school children that MSU hopes will be in attendance.
The game day event is open to K-8 students, and includes free admission to the game if a child is coming with an entire class or school. Teachers, bus drivers, chaperones, and administrators will also receive free admission as well.
“We are thrilled to host our first Bobcat Basketball School Day,” said MSU women’s basketball coach Tricia Binford. “This is something we’ve been talking about doing for a few years as it makes so much sense to involve our incredible community. The game will feature educational components and will include a basketball math book that ties into the strength of MSU’s prestigious math and science programs.
“We are excited to get kids on campus and experience Bobcat basketball who may have never been to a game before as well as the atmosphere our players will get to compete in with the big, loud crowd this day will create,” Binford added.
Schools can now start reserving space at the game. For more information or to make a reservation contact Bethany Cordell at 406-994-CATS or email promotions@msubobcats.com.
