On Saturday, April 23rd, Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter will the host the “April Showers Bring Kittens and Flowers” Kitten Shower and Donation Drive. This event is an opportunity for Heart of the Valley to collect donations for their kitten nursery in 2016. “In 2015 Heart of the Valley found 469 kittens their forever homes,” said Emily Burkhardt, Volunteer and Education Manager at the shelter. “Due to the warm weather we expect to start receiving litters of kittens any day and this donation drive will help us to prepare to care for those kittens.” The shelter has put together a wish list of items which can be found on their website. Donation items can be dropped off at Heart of the Valley now. Donations can also be brought to the “April Showers Bring Kittens and Flowers” Kitten Shower on April 23rd.
The event will start at 10am and take place in the Heart of the Valley Community Room. Attendees can expect light snacks and will be invited to tour the shelter. Following the event, there will be a Foster Orientation and Information session for those interested in fostering kitten litters. The mission of Heart of the Valley Inc. is to compassionately shelter the lost and surrendered pets of Gallatin and Madison valleys, and to enhance the lives of people and companion animals through pet adoption and education.
