Back in full swing, farmers’ market season has returned to Bozeman and the surrounding communities. Here’s a look at some of the local markets where you can find garden-fresh produce, awesome food, novelty items, live entertainment, family fun, and more!
Bogert Farmers’ Market continues on Tuesday evenings, but during the Pavilion’s repair, has moved to Lindley Park. Market hours are from 5–8pm through September 10th in Lindley, right next to the Bozeman Public Library. Dedicated to the promotion of local growers, artisans, crafters, musicians, nonprofits, small businesses, and culinary artists, Bogert markets are a place for families and friends to gather, socialize, support local, and share in a fun-filled community environment! It features fresh produce from local farmers, arts & crafts, nonprofit booths, live music, children’s activities, and a plethora of dinner options. Grab some groceries, get that gift made locally for your friend’s upcoming birthday, learn something new about one of the amazing nonprofits in town, and hang out with friends and family – all without having to cook dinner!
Western Sustainability Exchange’s Livingston Farmers Market is held Wednesday evenings from 4:30–7:30pm in Miles Park through September 18th. This destination event features locally grown produce and meats, baked goods, prepared foods, beer, local musicians, arts and crafts vendors, and much more! It’s a great place to come for dinner and socialize, stock up on locally grown foods, shop from local artisans, learn about community resources, or just relax and enjoy the view of the Yellowstone River and the Absaroka Mountain Range while listening to live music.
Also on Wednesdays, the Big Sky Farmers Market takes over Town Center’s Fire Pit Park from 5–8pm through September 25th. Every year, numerous vendors including local and regional farmers, professional artisians, young artists and entrepreneurs, and community organizations come together to help foster and maintain a market that’s true to Big Sky mountain culture. Expect to find fresh produce, herbs, plants, flowers, baked goods, art, jewelry, and clothing, as well as Montana-made products like antler art, woodworking, and so much more.
Beginning July 11th, Belgrade Community Market returns to Lewis & Clark Park for its third annual summer series. The weekly market will continue on subsequent Thursday evenings from 4–7pm through September 12th. The region’s newest market provides a venue for homemade, handmade, and homegrown vendors to sell their local products. The weekly event will also provide the community with a fun, family friendly setting to buy produce and local goods from their neighbors.
Finally, the original Gallatin Valley Farmers’ Market will be held Saturday mornings from 9am–12pm through September 14th. The markets take place at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds in Bozeman. Serving the community for more than four decades, the Gallatin Valley Farmers’ Market provides an opportunity and location for hundreds of local vendors of homemade food, handmade crafts, and locally grown produce to market, display and sell their goods to promote economic well-being and support the development of home-based businesses. Please note: there will be no market on July 20th during the Big Sky Country State Fair.
