Mile High songwriter Isabelle Stillman, local musicians drop by Wild Joe*s
If the seemingly swift change in season has you looking for ways to warm up, a stop into Downtown Bozeman’s Wild Joe*s has just the ticket. And if you’re swinging in for an evening boost, the Coffee Spot is also a great place to check out acoustic sets by local and traveling artists. Here’s a look at what’s coming up.

Isabelle Stillman
Denver singer/songwriter Isabelle Stillman visits for a show on Friday, November 8th. Local musician Sarah Price will open at 6pm.
The Missouri native captures a Midwestern country-folk and Rocky Mountain Americana sound in her work. Her reflections on growing up in America in the 21st Century are vivid, with her lyrics clever and referential. On stage, Stillman’s time as a high school English teacher comes through. She engages a room, plays to and with an audience, jerks tears and illicits laughter. Though she’s new to the music scene, Isabelle has found a sound and presence that are unique to her and entirely authentic. Recent singles “Fine,” “Kid” and “Middle Sister” are available now.
With a voice that brings to mind the honesty of Joni Mitchell and the sweetness of Alison Krauss, Price’s performances feel like home. Raw, pure, and made for bigger stages than the ones she’s used to playing. Price spent the last three years performing around the United States and Europe as both a solo artist and part of a duo with folk/rocker Aaron Howard. Her abiding love of music is apparent in every moment she spends playing, both on and off the stage.
Local artist Darla Sweeney returns Sunday, November 17th from 1–3pm. She grew up in the mountains surrounded by music, spending much of that time playing guitar and writing songs. Darla’s original, thought-provoking lyrics speak to a variety of audiences, whether to those young at heart, struggling to find their place, or looking for a sweet story to listen to. With country and folk roots, her simple singer/songwriter style makes for an enjoyable experience for all.
The next Open Mic Night takes place Saturday, November 18th from 6–8pm. Enjoy an evening of music performed by local musicians. Bring your guitar, sitar, zither, poetry, comedy, or theremin and take a turn up at the mic. Show Bozeman what you’re made of! Individual set lengths depend on the number of musicians who want to play. Sign-ups start at 5:30pm – first come, first served. Be sure to bring your friends and support live music in Bozeman! A modest contribution to the kitty will be divided by participating musicians at the end of the night. The more people who come, the more money in the pot.
