IndepenDANCE Community Dance Project is proud to present their 15th annual showcase, Rise. The event is set for Saturday, September 9th at the Willson Auditorium in Downtown Bozeman. Performances will be held at 2pm and 7pm.
This community event features unique pieces created just for this show, choreographed and performed by community members. This year’s show is composed of 20 pieces representing a full range of dance, from hip-hop to belly dance to contemporary styles.
Performers this year will include Nina Erickson, Austine Moonshadow, Colette Pengelley, Deenya Rabius, Leonard Wood, Marise Cotton-Rowell, Veronica Nelson, Elise Knox, Haley Doland, Samantha Hinckley, Evelyn Paz Solis, Tim Edgar, Dezaray Paunovich, Samantha Simonich, Tamara Knappenberger, Remya Nair, Kiera Smith, Tara Heinrich and Erin Levy. IndepenDANCE is known for their diverse productions, in which each piece is entirely different than the last. The project endeavors to inspire, unite and nurture dancers and choreographers while celebrating diversity and creativity through movement. The non-profit organization provides its participants the ability to create all types of dance together and showcase their work in a variety of settings. IndepenDANCE thrives because of the community’s passion for dance and belief that the art of movement has no limits. •
