Verge Theater has returned with a new season of hilarious stage entertainment! Here’s a look at what’s coming up in November!
The amazing Bozeman Improverts are on the Verge Main Stage in November to tackle long form improv—the tight rope walk of the theater world! Using only an audience member’s suggestion for the name of a play, the Improverts will take that title and create characters, scenes, and a complete story line in front of your very eyes. Cast members, Kent Davis, Bennett Drozic, Molly Hannan, Paige Johnson, EB Love, John Townsend-Mehler, BZ Noonan, and Danielle Thomsen will create a full play with two acts using only their acting talents and improbably large heads. The whole night can be summed up by one cast member’s quote, “Scripts? We don’t need no stinking scripts!” The Improverts will be performing Random Acts Of Improv for three nights only, with (obviously) a new play each night. Come join the fun at 8pm each evening, Thursday–Saturday, November 10th–12th.
Tickets are only $7 to see this amazing, once in a lifetime event (literally, each of these plays will only be performed once!). Recover from your weekend with Improv Comedy! Join in as the Verge players offer up a Monday Night sacrifice of the most daring, death defying type of live theater there is: Improv! They call it Improv on the Verge! Improv Monday Nights feature The Bozeman Improverts who will beguile you with their laser-like wits, sharp tongues, and obnoxiously large heads. These masterful, main stage players improvise sketches built around audience suggestions, play improv games similar to those you see on Who’s Line Is It Anyway?, and perform long form improv that is basically making up short plays on the spot. You have to experience this to believe it! It’s a mere $7 to get in and laugh like hell at their team of S.W.A.T. trained Improv Players. (S.W.A.T. = SouthWest Alternative Theater). The next Monday night show is on November 21st beginning at 7pm. Jonathan Graham’s “The Boy Who Loved Monsters and the Girl Who Loved Peas” will be featured on the family stage one last time on Saturday, November 5th at 2pm. Tickets to this all ages show are only $7! Left alone at the dinner table to finish the remains of his meal (a single, enormous pea), 8-year-old Evan wishes he had a real live monster to eat his peas and play with him. When a real live monster actually arrives, life is turned upside down for Evan and his family in this hilarious and heartfelt comedy. The monster, named Pea, immediately befriends Evan and his little sister, Sue, but the children have to keep talking the monster out of eating their parents! What could possibly go wrong with this scenario? Well, parents bring your kids, and kids bring your parents to find out if Pea can become part of the family or will have to return to MONSTER WORLD! Finally, come check out Silly Moose Comedy Improv. Join Silly the Moose and his gang of funsters every week for a new show! Improvisation for kids and parents alike. The kids are encouraged to get crazy, shout suggestions, and become a part of the hilarity on stage. Just like Improv on the Verge, but with a G rating! Silly Moose Improv runs at 2pm on Saturdays, November 12th and 19th. It’s only $7 for an hour of laughs. For more information about any Verge shows, please visit www.vergetheater.com/. Reservations can be made online or in person at Cactus Records in Downtown Bozeman.
