Mielikki: Exhibition/Reception for George Hill
February 15 @ 5:00pm
Courtney Collins Fine Art Gallery, located at 32 Town Center Ave, Big Sky, is thrilled to announce the upcoming exhibition of renowned artist George Hill, titled Mielikki. Join us on February 15th, 2025 from 5 PM to 8 PM for an evening of art, inspiration, and community as we celebrate Hill’s latest body of work.
The title of this exhibition, Mielikki, draws its inspiration from Finnish mythology, where Mielikki is revered as the goddess of the forest and the protector of animals. Each piece in this collection has been given a Finnish name, reflecting the deep connection between nature and the spirit world that Mielikki embodies. Through his artwork, Hill invites viewers to explore the intricate relationship between humanity and the natural environment, evoking a sense of wonder and reverence for wildlife.
George Hill is an artist known for his thought-provoking and visually stunning works that often blend realism with abstract elements. His unique approach to art captures the essence of his subjects, drawing viewers into a dialogue about the interconnectedness of life and the importance of preserving our natural habitats. With a background in both traditional and contemporary techniques, Hill’s work challenges perceptions and encourages a deeper understanding of the themes he explores.
We invite you to join us for the opening reception of Mielikki, where you can meet George Hill and experience his captivating artwork in person. Have a beverage and visit with the artist, he will be available for discussion throughout the evening.
