GYC Spring Forward webinar series: Bringing Down the Fence
May 8 @ 4:00pm
Spring in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem can mean bright and sunny one day and a blizzard the next. You never quite know what’s in store for a day out exploring as your backpack is laden with every jacket imaginable. Here at the Greater Yellowstone Coalition, another reason to anticipate spring is the return of our Spring Forward webinar series, where we share some of the amazing work our staff is doing across the region. This year is no different and we have a great lineup for you.
Bringing Down the Fence: Enhancing Wildlife Habitat Connectivity Thursday, May 8 | 4 – 5 p.m. MT The great migrations across Greater Yellowstone are unlike anywhere else on earth. Pronghorn, elk, and deer ebb and flow across the ecosystem, driving the heartbeat of this wild heart of North America. However, these ancient paths and habitats are often obstructed by miles and miles of fencing. Without easy connectivity, our beloved ungulates are at risk. Fortunately, the Greater Yellowstone Coalition is hard at work supporting the reconnection of movement corridors and seasonal habitats. Removing and modifying fencing is one of the simplest and most effective ways of ensuring the landscape is permeable and wildlife can move without the harm barbed wire fences can cause. Join GYC’s Erin Welty to learn more about our efforts to enhance wildlife habitat connectivity and what you can do to help.
