Grant Writing 101

Whether you’re new to grant writing or looking to support a nonprofit, in this live online course hosted by MSU Academic Outreach, you’ll learn the fundamentals of finding funding opportunities and crafting effective grant proposals that get noticed.
By the end of this course, you’ll have the basic skills to write grant proposals and strengthen funding applications. Along the way, you’ll learn each step of the grant writing process, including how to:
โข Identify potential funding sources and evaluate grant opportunities;
โข Write effective statements of need, project descriptions, and objectives;
โข Develop supporting proposal components, including organizational background, budgets, and evaluation plans; and
โข Craft compelling executive summaries and cover letters.
When: October 29 – November 19, 2026, with live virtual class from 5:30 – 7:00 pm on Thursdays
