Celebrating Popular Bald Eagle Fledglings
The 15-mile long Big Bear Valley, with its beautiful lake, sits inside the San Bernardino National Forest in Southern California. The Big Bear Valley hosts a popular live bald eagle nest camera for the public across the world to view. Parent birds, Jackie and Shadow, have successfully raised two chicks this spring named Sunny and Gizmo. The chicks are due to fledge the nest any day now.
Caleb Carr, General Manager of Wild Birds Unlimited at 2047 W Oak Street Suite 105 in Bozeman, said, “Our team has been following these bald eagles every year since I started working here in 2022 and we are so excited to see these baby eagles fledge.”
The store will host a Baby Bird Shower for the bald eagles with festivities on Saturday May 31st, 2025.
Donations from the public will be collected on behalf of the Montana Raptor Conservation Center, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Montana Raptor Conservation Center’s mission is to improve the welfare of raptors across Montana through rehabilitation of injured birds, community education, and partnerships for raptor conservation and research. To learn more, visit their website at https://montanaraptor.org/
