Set in a Berlin nightclub during the twilight of the Jazz Age, CABARET explores the tumultuous
life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich.
CABARET is the winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

AVAILABLE ROLES:

• Master of Ceremonies – Host at the Kit Kat Club; requires a strong presence that is playful and mysterious. Must act, sing (some in German), and move well. Age range: 25-50. German accent.
Vocal range top: C#5

• Sally Bowles – A British cabaret singer at the Kit Kat Club. Quirky and flighty. Must act, sing, and dance well; Age range: 20-40
Vocal range: top: C5

• Clifford Bradshaw – An American novelist and English teacher traveling to Berlin. Must act and sing well, comfortable with stage movement, light dance, Age range:25-40

• Fräulein Schneider – A landlady who longs for companionship. Must act and sing well; comfortable with stage movement and light dance (waltz), Age range: Late 40s-60s
Accent: German

• Herr Schultz – A Jewish fruit shop owner who falls in love with Fraulein Schneider; sweet, but naïve about the political turmoil in Germany. Must act and sing well; comfortable with stage movement and light dance (waltz), Age range: Late 40s-60s

• Fräulein Kost – A woman who rents in Fraulein Schneider’s boarding house; larger than life personality, must act and move well and sing in German. Age range: 30-49

• Ernst Ludwig – A friendly and likable German, takes English lessons from Cliff, and smuggles funds for the Nazi party; comfortable with stage movement and light dance (waltz); and sing in German. Age range: 20-40

Those interested in the above roles should attend one of the following audition dates:
– Monday, March 31st: 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
– Tuesday, April 1st: 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Location: The Ellen Theatre at 17 W. Main in Downtown Bozeman. Please enter through the front doors of the theatre.
Instructions: For your audition, please prepare a short song and bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided. You may be asked to read audition sides, which we will provide.
Due to the adult nature of Cabaret, all actors must be at least 18 at the time of the auditions.

DANCE CALL FOR KIT KAT ENSEMBLE:
Montana TheatreWorks is seeking dynamic dancers of all genders for its upcoming production of Cabaret. Performers should have a strong stage presence and an eagerness
to explore movement and showcase their creativity. We are looking for an eclectic mix of types, each with their own unique identity. Experience in the following styles is beneficial
but not required: Jazz, Contemporary, Burlesque, and Drag. You may be asked to attend a
vocal callback. Those cast in the Kit Kat ensemble will be required to sing in some of the group numbers.
Choose one of the following time slots:
Saturday, March 29th: 11:00 AM
Sunday, March 30th: 1:00 PM
Check in begins 30 minutes prior to the start of the audition. We recommend allowing yourself 10 to 15 minutes to warm up.
Location: The Ellen Theatre at 17 W. Main in Downtown Bozeman. Please enter through the front doors of the theatre.
Instructions: Please wear clothing and shoes you can move in. Bring heels and jazz shoes, or jazz boots/sneakers, if you have them.
