The Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture has announced its annual Open House & Anniversary Celebration for Friday, May 10th from 5–8pm. Join to help celebrate twenty-six years of accessible arts and culture in our community as well as a legacy of learning that began in the storied building a century ago. Attendees will find festivities in every corner of the Emerson:
– new exhibits in the Jessie Wilber, Lobby and Weaver Room galleries
– open tenant studios and work spaces
– sales in selected galleries and shops
– refreshments and cake
– live music with the B Sharps Middle School Jazz Band
In conjunction with the Open House, the Emerson is thrilled to host the opening reception for its newest exhibits, including the Compassion Project’s Partner Artist exhibition in the Lobby. Stroll through 4,555 works of community-created art for the Compassion Project on the walls of the Weaver Room, upstairs hallways, and West Wing. The Jessie Wilber Gallery will feature the exhibit opening of “Stone Sage Sheep,” a collection of landscape inspired works using local materials expand upon the concept of place by artist Zuzanna Karczewska.
