Southwest Montana is known for producing some of the best independent talent music has to offer, with an expansive roster of solo and ensemble projects from every genre. New to the scene, Life Heads West celebrates the release of their debut album – Miles and Miles – with a complimentary show at Pilgrim Church in Bozeman. The rock-skewing Americana alt-folk group will unveil their collection of work on Sunday, December 10th. The show begins at 6pm and is open to the public.
The 17-track album of original songs were written and developed as a reflection on loss, love, regret and the beauty of life. Produced as an alternate adult indie rock album, the music possesses transcendent qualities using open chords and alternate tunings. The participating musicians found unique expression for each instrument used in creation of the project: piano, flute, violin, guitar and percussion.
“Chris Cunningham of Basecamp Recording connected all of us after I presented a series of song ideas to him, generally classified as Americana,” says frontman Keith Anderson. “We began work on the album two years ago and this is our debut performance.”
“A certain magic happens when we begin work on a new song and we feel compelled to share that with you. Every new song is a chance to chase something beautiful. We hope you find a bit of beauty in our work.”
Miles and Miles is available to stream in advance at www.bandcamp.com where listeners can connect with the burgeoning group. Please join for this free album release show on Dec. 10th. Pilgrim Church is located at 2118 S 3rd in Bozeman. •
