Home to entertainment of all varieties, Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre is also the perfect venue to catch a show by touring musical acts and more. Here’s a look at who’s on the calendar.
First up, settle in for the 2025 return of International Guitar Night on Monday, February 17th. Performances begin at 7:30pm. All seats are $44.50.
For their 25th annual tour, Brian Gore has assembled a lineup of three exciting guitarists making their US debuts to join one of IGN’s all-time favorites.
Lulo Reinhardt is well known worldwide as the grand-nephew of the legendary Django Reinhardt. A favorite of Ellen audiences, Lulo plays a dazzling combination of gypsy swing with Latin rhythms. Alexandra Whittingham is a dynamic classical guitarist with a repertoire ranging from classics to contemporary composers. Niwel Tsumbu has kept his unique Congolese percussive style alive over the past twenty five years living in Ireland. Soenke Meinen is a leading contemporary fingerstyle guitarist, mixing the incredible dexterity of his high-speed compositions with sensitive ballads.
“International Guitar Night is an annual event that never disappoints,” says Ellen Executive Director John Ludin. “In fact, throughout the year, patrons often ask, ‘When are they coming back?’ If you’ve never seen IGN, this is a gathering of four amazingly gifted guitarists, each incredibly talented who captivate on their own and then blow away the audience when they perform together.”
Looking ahead, enjoy a night of Irish bluegrass with JigJam on Friday, March 7th. Show starts at 7:30pm. All seats are $32.
When virtuoso Irish playing jumps the pond running through the wide open fields of bluegrass/Americana, JigJam is born. Bluegrass and American folk music originated from the group’s home, and now the band is taking it back. Foot stomping, high energy fun is what you’re in for with this musical powerhouse live in concert.
Founding members from Offaly – Jamie McKeogh (lead singer, guitar) and Daithi Melia (5-string banjo, dobro) are joined by Tipperary-born Gavin Strappe (mandolin, tenor banjo). Hopping aboard for their current tour is Kevin Buckley (fiddle) to make up this iGrass (Irish Bluegrass) quartet. Described as “The best Irish band in bluegrass” and “sparkling, infectious,” these lads have been hailed as “Ireland’s answer to New Grass Revival.”
Wine, beer and concessions will be sold in the lobby one hour before the show. Ticketing and further information about other upcoming happenings is available at www.theellentheatre.org. For additional inquiries, call the box office at (406) 585-5885. •
