Gallatin Valley Land Trust Hosts Discovery Walks: Trail Exploration Series
Gallatin Valley Land Trust’s (GVLT) Main Street to the Mountains trail system now features over 90 miles of trails. These trails are for all abilities, and they are accessible from neighborhoods all over town. Yet the trail system can be daunting and confusing to the newcomer or novice user. And even the experienced trail users in Bozeman will be surprised to find new additions to the Main Street to the Mountains trails system.
GVLT, in partnership with Bozeman Health and the City of Bozeman, is excited to host Discovery Walks: A Trail Exploration Series in person again this year. Join GVLT volunteers and walk, talk, and explore the trails while meeting new people and learning something new along the way. These one-hour, guided, educational walks will help you discover the 90+ miles of trail on the Main Street to the Mountains trail system. Each walk takes place at a different trail or park and features a different theme. This year, we are partnering with Montana Outdoor Science School, Sacajawea Audubon Society, Bozeman Health, Bozeman Parks and Recreation, and the Gallatin Watershed Council to bring fun, educational, outdoor activities the whole family can enjoy.
New to Bozeman? Interested in discovering new trails? Need a spring activity for the kids? Curious about water, geography, yoga, plants, trail running, or birds? We have a Discovery Walk for you! Discovery Walks are all an hour long, unless otherwise specified in the schedule. Many of the walks are geared toward families and kids such as the preschool-aged nature walks with the Montana Outdoor Science School.
Dogs are not allowed on walks. The full schedule for June is located online at www.gvlt.org/events/discovery-walks. Meeting locations for walks and Google maps are also located on the website. •
