Eagles’ weekends feature Red Glow Buffalo, Savvy & more
Live acts have returned to the Eagles Bar with plenty of opportunities for local listeners to choose from in the coming weeks. Here’s a look at what’s happening at FOE this month.
The next midweek set comes courtesy of Neil Filo Beddow on Wednesday, May 5th – Cinco de Mayo! He plays original folk rock for the soul, and describes his guitar style as the “West Dakota stutter.” His lyrically scrambled iambic pentameter can be politically bent, spiritually seeking, and tongue-in-cheek humorous with just a twist of serious.
Country rockers BlueBelly Junction will bring the noise Friday and Saturday, May 7th and 8th. The “rockabilly” group brings an arsenal of originals and personalized covers. The high-energy band tends to veer away from slow jams, other than the occasional tune.
Kristin Lundell follows Wednesday, May 12th. The local singer/songwriter and guitarist performs catchy, melodic rock originals inspired by the likes of Veruca Salt, Juliana Hatfield and The Beatles. She’ll also have the audience singing along as she puts her spin on hits that span the decades.
Red Glow Buffalo returns with a weekend appearance on Friday and Saturday, May 14th and 15th. The band brings music that’s fun, adventurous and cool – sometimes loud, but always fresh. They play twangy, rock n’ roll-style originals and many “repurposed” covers. Calling “Montellowstone” home, Red Glow Buffalo draws inspiration from the likes of Rubber Knife Gang, Paul Simon, Reel Big Fish, Tom Petty, The White Stripes, Turnpike Troubadours, Snoop Dogg, The Devil Makes Three, James Gang, The Kinks, Bob Dylan and The Beatles, and many more.
Jessica Hegg steps in for the Wednesday evening set on May 19th. A solo performer known also as “Montana Sunshine,” she plays older rock and country in the style of Stevie Nicks along with heartfelt originals. Hegg is a Bozeman native and delivers with every performance.
Next up is a pair of rockin’ shows by Dilly Dilly on Friday and Saturday, May 21st and 22nd. Kick off the first weekend of the month with all your classic favorites.
Luke Flansburg entertains Wednesday, May 26th. He’ll bring a wide variety of music ranging from funk to rock to blues. Also a member of Pinky & the Floyd, Tsunami Funk and MOTH, prepare for a fun set of covers and originals that will span the genres.
Kristen Lundell returns to the Eagles with her band to close out the last month before summer! Savvy is set for Friday and Saturday, May 28th and 29th. The soulful foursome play rock versions of songs from every genre.
There’s no better Thirsty Thursday than one with Sunrise Karaoke, setting up at FOE weekly. Sing your heart out and cheer on your friends, but please watch your distance!
