Montana’s coldest season is in full swing, delivering plenty of opportunities to warm up with a night at Downtown Bozeman’s Eagles Bar. The local watering hole remains home to a steady schedule of Wednesday acoustics and weekend jamming.
Bird Dog Brian Kassay brings a solo performance on January 8th. The local musician mixes guitar, violin, keyboard and harmonica in creation of his unique, live-looping performances.
Visiting from Billings, the High Country Outlaws take the stage Jan. 10th and 11th. Fused with members of two Magic City groups, the band will front a boot scootin’ set of electrifying jams and audience favorites.
Singer/songwriter Hannah Jo Lally shows off her talents on Jan. 15th. From the back roads of Eastern Washington, enjoy an evening of country cuts and distinctive originals. She draws influence from the likes of Suzy Bogguss and Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings and Mary Chapin Carpenter, among others.
Luke Flansburg fronts a solo show on Jan. 22nd. He’ll bring a wide variety of music ranging from funk to rock to blues. Also a member of Pinky & the Floyd, Tsunami Funk and MOTH, prepare for a fun set of covers and originals that will span the genres.
Check out budding local band The Scurry on Jan. 24th and 25th. The frontman of the Billings-based Arterial Drive, Drew McDowell has been writing songs and performing in Montana for years, also alongside his band The Scurry. Playing a poppy indie rock sound, he sings a healthy blend of amazing originals and classic covers. His eponymous debut album is out now.
A member of local “rockabilly” group Bluebelly Junction, Levi Main delivers a solo show to Eagles-goers on Jan. 29th. De-stress midweek with a drink and the stylings of this talented local musician.
Daniel Kosel & Madrona Road take the stage on Jan. 31st and February 1st. Enjoy nights of rock and blues curated by Kosel, whose poetry, soulful vocals and guitar work make a delightful listening experience best described as “Crues Music” – a self-styled blend of country, rock and blues.
Exercise your pipes with the voted ‘Best’ Karaoke Night in town, sponsored by Bozeman’s Best Entertainment Group, setting up at FOE every Thursday. Sing your heart out and cheer on your friends! Sign-ups start at 9pm.
The Eagles hosts BINGO Night on Saturday evenings, with the game beginning at 6pm. Grab your friends and dobber of choice for a chance to win some extra bucks.
Make sure to check out Bridger Mountain Big Band on Sunday nights. The ensemble performs at 7pm. The 17-piece jazz orchestra celebrates the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie and more, with original arrangements and music of all genres from the 1900s to today.
