It’s been over five years since the husband and wife indie folk-rock duo known as You Knew Me When uprooted from their Nashville home and full-time jobs in 2012. They had initially planned to tour the nation for a full year… but never stopped. Since that time, they’ve been serving up their “craft brewed compositions,” a term coined from their over 180 craft brewery performances (including quite a few Montana Breweries), coast to coast throughout the United States and into Canada.
Now based in southwestern Colorado, the duo are back on the road once again with their new album Into the Looking Glass and will perform at the 4th Annual Tap Into Montana Brewfest on Saturday, April 7th at 2:30pm. The Brewfest takes place from 2–7pm at Miles Park in Livingston. Sample beers from 29 Montana Breweries, enjoy live music from You Knew Me When and The Dirty Shame, and food from local vendors. Outfitted with an array of instruments, You Knew Me When present a full band sound. While blending their vocals, Karisa, who previously served as a tenured Nashville public school music teacher, provides the piano, ukulele, glockenspiel, and percussive elements, as Cie, who spent several years as the Global Events Manager for Gibson Guitar, supplies the guitar and other rhythmic nuances. The cumulative result is a musical style and live show that blends a singer/songwriter soul with a rock n’ roll mentality.
Into the Looking Glass is the duo’s third studio album. At times upbeat and folksy, at times brooding and reflective, the album aims at introspection for the couple’s continued journey while sharing experiences gained from over five years of nonstop touring. The album is available on iTunes, Spotify, and all other major music services.
