Chico hosts Milton Menasco fundraiser, Saloon shows
The accommodations tend to book up quickly but Chico Hot Springs welcomes day trippers for a soak, dinner and night on the dance floor. The resort is perfect for quick getaways and its Saloon features the very best in local talent every weekend.
Kicking off the month is El Wencho on May 6th and 7th. For most people, the image of an “acoustic duo” conjures images of two soft spoken musicians singing folk rock and hippie jam songs. This is not the case with the Wench. Two original members of the Clintons, John and Josh joke, “we’re half the band, twice the party!” The guys are no strangers to throwing a rocking good time. Their show is a hotdish or “badasserole” of musical genres and style.
On Sunday, May 8th, head to Chico for a special Milton Menasco Family Fundraiser from 2–5pm. The event will support the late live music veteran’s loved ones with a raffle and silent auction, with music by El Wencho. All soaking revenue on this date will be donated to the fund.
Rock, rhythm & blues artists Gary Small & The Coyote Brothers follow May 13th and 14th. If you love blues, rockabilly, surf, and plain ole good times music, then you’re in the right place – they’re known as “Purveyors of Good Boogie Music.” The Coyote Bros are a diverse band defined by its rockabilly, blues, cajun, surf, reggae, and anything else they deem cool.
Get ready to hit the floor when Triggered take the stage on May 20th and 21st. The band performs an array of country and rock tunes. A morning soak will help ease the pain after a night up on your feet.
The zestful blend of blues rock, soul and reggae closes out the last month before summer with Shortchange on May 27th and 28th. Let yer hair down and cut up the floor and with this lively bunch of Montana musicians.
Live Saloon music begins at 9pm. Chico Hot Springs is located in Pray, 20 miles south of Livingston. For more information, visit www.chicohotsprings.com. •
