Following a kickoff show by Josh Turner last month, Bridger Brewing’s summer concert series continues at its Three Forks amphitheater as the sunny season blankets Southwest Montana.
Next up is a special fundraiser show on Saturday, June 22nd. “Brews & Beats: A Benefit Concert for KGLT” will feature the music of Paige & the People’s Band, STiLGONE and Matt Strachan & the Hoot Owls. The music begins at 6pm.
Horn-powered and vocally charged, the group is a mainstay in the Montana music scene, showcasing the sound of ’70s soul with a modern twist. The backup vocalists and horn section bring groups like Cold Blood or Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings to mind, but with a contemporary feel. The band is currently producing their first-ever studio album.
STiLGONE plays a unique fusion of genres, spanning funk, soul, hip-hop, reggae, psychedelic rock and more. While covering so many styles they manage to create a cohesive sound that is uniquely their own. Their live shows are an immersive trip through detailed soundscapes, danceable grooves and the lyrics of songwriter and guitarist Symon Palmer. Their new release, B.O.L.O., is available now.
With roots in alternative rock and country music, Matt Strachan has been on the local music scene for the better part of two decades. He and his band, the Hoot Owls, are known for their high energy country-rock performances. Strachan has thus far released two studio albums, Tickets and Dogtown.
Rising country trio Midland are set to bring their summer tour to Southwest Montana on Friday, June 28th. Opening support comes courtesy of Pug Johnson & the Hounds and Cactus Cuts for the 7pm show.
Hailing from Dripping Springs, TX, lead vocalist Mark Wystrach fronts Midland’s rich sound that is rounded out with lead guitarist/vocalist Jess Carson and bass player/vocalist Cameron Duddy. Rooted in tradition in both sound and style, the trio initially garnered attention playing clubs in the region. The trio was named New Vocal Group of the Year at the ACM Awards and brought listeners a resurgence of their thick harmonies, sad melodies, tart lyrics and steel guitar with their latest album The Last Resort: Greetings From… Growing from bar band to an in-demand headliner, the trio has spent the past few years on the road selling out headline tours from coast to coast as well as getting to support some of country music’s biggest stars like George Strait, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw and Little Big Town. Recent singles “Wichita Lineman,” “Up in Texas” and “Old Fashioned Feeling” precede their soon to be released new album.
Advance general admission tickets for these shows are on sale now with VIP admission available. Visit www.bridgerbrewing.com to purchase tickets and to learn more about the summer lineup that will see additional shows by Grace Potter, Uncle Kracker, Paul Cauthen and Kitchen Dwellers. Cheers! •
