Bozeman Symphony heads to Shane Center ahead of holiday performances
Bozeman Symphony Far Afield ensemble, Bobcat Brass, alongside the talents of soprano Catherine Savery and pianist Laurel Yost will be featured as part of an upcoming edition of concert series Symphony at the Shane. Presented by Bozeman Symphony, the concert is set for 7:30pm on Friday, November 17th at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts, located at 415 E Lewis St. in Livingston.
Bobcat Brass will perform works by Francis Poulenc, American composer and trumpet pedagogue Anthony Plog, Danish composer Jan Koetsier, and American composer Robert Muczynki. All pieces were written specifically for brass trio. These exciting contemporary works showcase the many different personalities of brass! Savery and Yost will present a variety of arias ranging from Handel to Broadway.
Symphony at the Shane performances feature the very best of the Bozeman Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Choir. Each performance showcases two diverse soloists and ensembles. You’ll be wowed by these fantastic musicians and proud to know they are your neighbors! Performance admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets for this event can be purchased in advance or at the door.
A preview of what’s to come, the return of A Brasstacular Christmas is set to unfold at Willson Auditorium next month. Performances will unfold on Saturday, December 9th at 7:30pm, and Sunday, December 10th at 2:30pm. Back by popular demand, these performances will feature the teaming of Maestro Matthew Savery and Ryan Anthony, one of the greatest trumpeters and entertainers in the world today.
“I never have as much fun as I do when I’m on stage with Ryan,” says Savery. “It is always an honor to be on stage with a world-class musician but even more fun when it’s a close friend.”
Highlights of this fresh and humorous Christmas extravaganza will include the likes of “Trumpet Voluntary,” “The Christmas Song,” “Deck the Horn,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” selections from The Polar Express, and much, much more. Tickets range from $22–$67 and are available for purchase now. Receptions will immediately follow each performance.
