Hot Springs bustling with praise-worthy acoustics – poolside!
Shamrock green may be the color of the month, but Bozeman and the surrounding areas are still draped in white! The still-icy temps call for a nice soak in the rejuvenative natural pools at Bozeman Hot Springs. A destination for locals and their families, the venue is also home to “Bozeman Unplugged,” a fantastic regional music series live from the pool-adjacent stage on regular Thursday and Sunday nights beginning at 7pm. Here’s a look at who’s set to perform.
Sugar Daddies follow on Thursday, March 7th. The Bozeman-based trio plays a wide variety of music, from country and blues to rock n’ roll with a plethora of covers most audiences will be sure to recognize. Originally founded in 2012, these fellas have been touring the local scene for many years, bringing folks to their feet everywhere they perform. Head out to the hot springs to hear this amazing conglomeration of guitar, keys, bass, and various percussion wow the crowd. You won’t be disappointed!
Check out a duo show by Ryan Acker and Lena Schiffer on Sunday, March 10th. Vocalists from two of the biggest bluegrass/Americana bands in their respective areas, these talented musicians have become a staple in the Montana music scene. As the banjo player for the Minnesota-based Americana powerhouse band The Last Revel, Acker brings a wide variety of stringed instruments paired with amazing vocals and original songs for a truly mesmerizing show. Playing with him is the frontwoman of the legendary Bozeman-based bluegrass band Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs.
Local singer/songwriter Jacob Rountree performs on Thursday, March 14th. Bringing an indie rock/folk sound to every performance, Rountree sings songs with contemplative and powerful lyrics that are relatable and help build the soul. Rountree pairs his vocals with a few different styles of guitar playing, captivating audiences with each of his songs and providing a rockin’ good time for everyone involved.
Spend St. Paddy’s with The Dirt Farmers on Sunday, March 17th. They’re a toe-tapping string band who bring amazing bluegrass music they’ve coined “paisley grass.” Gaining a following from their upbeat blend of old school country and bluegrass, fueled with an occasional blend of rock or hip-hop, The Dirt Farmers serve up an incredible variety of genres with a mandolin, banjo, guitar, fiddle, and bass.
