Betsy Wise celebrates album release with Story Mansion bash
On Thursday, February 20th, the Bozeman Folklore Society and Bozeman Parks and Recreation will once again present a unique and entertaining showcase of live music in the historic Story Mansion as part of its “Pickin’ in the Park” series.
The evening will feature singer/songwriter Betsy Wise with an album release performance at 7pm. Doors will open at 6:30pm, with the all-ages show to follow. Advance tickets are $13.50 at Cactus Records, or www.cactusrecords.net (plus fees). Any remaining tickets will be available at the door. Seating is limited. The Story Mansion is located at 811 S Willson Ave. The evening will serve as a celebration of Wise’s new self-titled album, released in December. She will be performing alongside John Sanders on upright bass, with the likelihood of a guest on fiddle high. Wise lives a life steeped in music, teaching and gigging, with a strong belief in the healing and transformative power of music. She’s been making music her entire life, beginning with classical piano and singing harmony with her family. She began songwriting as a teenager inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell, Nancy Griffith and other rock n’ roll luminaries of the 1960s. You may have seen her singing and playing with the Hooligans, White Sage, Acony Belles, or as half of the duo Betsy & Johnny with regular collaborator John Sanders.
