Rialto calendar tempts with Turkuaz & An Evening with the Infamous Stringdusters follows on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14th
There’s plenty of live entertainment at the Rialto to help the antsy folks of Southwest Montana get through their cabin fever this winter! The historic theater brings an exciting lineup of top-tier talent from around the country to its event space in Downtown Bozeman. Here’s a look at just a few of the upcoming happenings.
New York’s Turkuaz perform with support from genre-bending Eminence Ensemble on Wednesday, February 13th at 8:30pm. General admission tickets to this 18+ show are $25. Doors at 7:30pm.
Popularized by Jackson Pollock, Janet Sobel, Max Ernst, and other 20th century luminaries, the art form itself relies on action and motion. In similar fashion, energetic splashes of funk, alternative, rock, R&B, and psychedelia color the music of Turkuaz. Balancing male-female harmonies, strutting guitars, wild horn arrangements, and interminable grooves, this spirit takes shape in the color donned by each respective member on stage nightly via larger-than-life performances. The Brooklyn-based nonet ignites an explosion of energy punctuated by neon hues, deft musicality, and show-stopping singalongs on their fifth full-length album, Life in the City.
An Evening with the Infamous Stringdusters follows on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14th at 8pm. General admission tickets to this 18+ show are $35. Doors at 7pm.
GRAMMY® Award winners for their 2017 album, Laws of Gravity, the quintet comes to Bozeman in support of its ninth full-length, Rise Sun, to be released at the top of April. For the album, the group once again sails into uncharted territory, moored only by their expressive patchwork of All-American bluegrass threaded together with strands of rock, jazz, funk, country, old-time, and more. Engendering a sense of impassioned fandom, the band have attracted a faithful audience that continues to grow.
On Friday, February 15th, treat yourself to An Evening with the Chris Robinson Brotherhood at 8:30pm. General admission tickets to this 18+ show are $32 with VIP packages available. Doors at 7:30pm.
Indisputably one of the hardest working bands in rock n’ roll, 2018 marked the fourth year in a row the Brotherhood played over 200 shows across the U.S. and Europe. Through that prolific touring schedule, the band has emerged a razor sharp, riveting live unit. Every show features original material stretching across the Brotherhood’s six studio albums, plus a repertoire of covers that runs from Slim Harpo to Bob Dylan and beyond.
The band’s latest in a series of live releases, Betty’s Midwestern Magick Blends, featuring highlights like “New Cannonball Rag,” “Forever as the Moon” and “Shadow Cosmos,” as well as adapting two from The Rolling Stones (“Down Home Girl” and “Let It Bleed”) and the seldom played fan favorite, Steppenwolf’s “Magic Carpet Ride.”
