Join your friends, family, and community in celebrating Independence Day! Gallatin Empire Lions Club will present the 2019 Festival of the Fourth at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds on Thursday, July 4th. The Lazy Owl String Band will get the evening started with a performance at 9pm, followed by the annual firework show at 10:30pm. Local food vendors will be on hand with delicious bites for purchase, including HuckinMT, Bubby’s Cuppa Joe, Chef’s Table and Blue Moose BBQ. This night of patriotism and fun is FREE and open to the public, but donations to the event hosts are encouraged.
A diverse group of musicians, the Lazy Owls’ influences range from jazz and blues to punk rock. However varied their influences, they’re undeniably steeped in an old-timey traditional style. The group encapsulates an ethic of hard driving, whiskey drinking, boot-stomping music with infectious energy that’s sure to get you moving. The band’s repertoire is heavily rooted in original material that pays homage to the tradition from which it was begotten.
The Festival of the Fourth is sponsored every year by the Gallatin Empire Lions Club, a local organization that empowers volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourages peace and promotes international understanding.
