The 2nd Annual Harley-Davidson Benefit Raffle Heroes and Horses will be held Saturday, September 12th at The Broken Arrow on 208 E Railroad Ave N, beginning at 4pm. The event will host a Kids Festival, Pig Roast, Silent and Live Auctions, Tastings from Dog Tag Brewery, Outlaw Brewery, Willie’s Distillery, and Wildrye Distillery. There will be live music and the showing of the new Heroes and Horses promotional video trailer. This year’s benefit will also raffle a brand-new Harley Davidson, compliments of Yellowstone Harley Davidson. Tickets to the benefit are $20/person or $50/family. Children under 10 are free. Harley Davidson raffle tickets are $100 and include free entry to the benefit. Tickets can be purchased at Yellowstone Harley Davidson, The Broken Arrow Bar & Casino and benefit sponsors: Dog Tag Brewery, Outlaw Brewery, Willie’s Distillery, and Wildrye Distillery. All proceeds go to Heroes and Horses. Heroes and Horses is a non-profit 3 phase program designed to help combat veterans re-enter civilian life, based in Manhattan. This is the second annual benefit to raise awareness and money for soldiers to complete this program. The event will also welcome the return of a veteran alumni who is currently on a 1000+ mile solo journey on horseback along the Continental Divide in support of Heroes and Horses. “We are not defined by our scars, but by what we do after the wound closes,” says Micah Fink, executive director of the program. Heroes and Horses is a unique program that uses the remote wilderness and the horse/human connection to challenge and inspire personal growth in combat veterans from mental and physical scars. This program is available to qualified veterans at no cost. Applicants are referred from a combination of sources, including the American Legion, the Veterans Administration, military hospitals, family military support units, and individuals, among others.
