Join Yellowstone Ballet Company for a local rendition of “The Little Mermaid” at Bozeman’s Willson Auditorium. The single-night performance is set for Thursday, June 18th, at 6:30pm.
Kathleen Rakela, Artistic Director of YBC and recipient of a prestigious Montana Arts Council Performing Arts Fellowship, has created an enchanting multimedia production that delights audiences of all ages, featuring magical costumes, engaging choreography, imaginative sea creatures, and stunning projected ocean imagery. The compelling score by former Hartford Ballet conductor Daniel Parker is interwoven with Robert Worobec’s moving narration of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale (in its original form, not the Disney version).

Joining YBC dancers are alumna Fiona Lee as the Little Mermaid and Marko Mikov of Milwaukee Ballet as the Prince. Ms. Lee originated the role in 2015 after earning a scholarship to the prestigious School of American Ballet in New York City, and now performs with the world-renowned Royal Danish Ballet.
Each child attending The Little Mermaid will receive a complimentary seashell. Following the performance, families are invited to take photos of their children in themed costumes – such as Little Nemo or starfish – alongside the Little Mermaid and a host of sea creatures.
