Wyoming Baroque will present Venice, Vivaldi, and Virtuosity! on Saturday, April 7th. The concert of Venetian classical music on authentic Baroque instruments will unfold at Reynolds Recital Hall on the Montana State University campus at 3pm.
The repertoire will include selections by Vivaldi as well as a semi-staged performance Benedetto Marcello’s evocative Arianna Abbandonata, which tells the story of Arianna after she helped Theseus defeat the Minotaur. Tickets are $20, or $10 for students and seniors, and will be available at the door.
Wyoming Baroque brings together nationally-known artists specializing in historically informed performances of 17th and 18th century repertoire as well as contemporary compositions featuring instruments built to the same specifications. The ensemble is in residence at Sheridan College in Sheridan, Wyoming and performs at the Whitney Center for the Arts. Committed to educations and arts advocacy, Wyoming Baroque also presents masterclasses at schools and community centers throughout the region.
