www.TWANG front night of country music at Story Mansion
It has been said more than once, that no music in Montana feels quite as satisfying, or makes you feel more at home than genuine country. It’s the music that people have heard over many decades in every square mile of Big Sky Country. Well, if country music has such a rich history in Montana, why not hear some in a truly historic venue?
On Friday, March 15th, the Bozeman Folklore Society once again joins forces with Bozeman Parks and Recreation to present a unique and entertaining evening of live music in the historic Story Mansion as part of its “Pickin’ in the Park” music series at 7:30pm. Presenting some good ole country music will be popular honky-tonk dance band www.TWANG.
Doors will open at 7pm, with the show to follow. Advance tickets are $12 and available at Cactus Records or www.cactusrecords.net. Any remaining tickets will be available for $15 at the door. Current BFS members may enjoy a three-dollar discount at the door as well. Seating is limited and these tickets go quickly, so purchase early! The Story Mansion is located at 811 S Willson Ave.
For twenty years, www.TWANG singer/songwriter Buck Buchanan and his seasoned crew have been delighting dancers and genuine country music fans with classic covers and seamless original tunes. Based in the Gallatin Valley, these musicians have recorded four albums of the music they love. Each recording has “TWANG tunes” and country classics that’ll make you want to “roll up the rug” and turn your living room into a dance hall. And on March 15th, you can experience them for yourself in the living room of the Story Mansion.
Along with Buck on the rhythm guitar, those country music fans who turn out for the Story show will hear Marcus Engstrom on lead guitar, Russ Olsen on bass, Mike Gillian on drums, and Mike Parsons on mandolin and fiddle, along with Mark O’Boyle on the pedal steel. The Story is not as big as some dance halls, but there will be space for dancing, as well as good seats for all to enjoy themselves.
