Western Sustainability Exchange’s Livingston Farmers Market kicks off its summer season on Wednesday, May 30th, with Wildfire Preparedness Day, starting at 4:30pm at Miles Band Shell Park, next to the Livingston Civic Center.
This special farmers market event is sponsored by Park County FireSafe Coalition, who will provide information on how to prepare for the upcoming wildfire season. Kids can meet Smokey Bear and take photos with him, see a fire engine and rescue vehicle, and even spray a firehose. There will also be a free concert by the Park High Jazz Band.
This summer’s farmers market will run from May 30th through September 19th and will all be held in Miles Band Shell Park, rain or shine. Special events will include Community Health Day on June 13th, YES Kids Day on June 27th, Fitness Day: Body, Mind & Soul on July 11th, Open Land Day on July 25th, Art on the Levy Day on August 8th, Mental Health Awareness Day on August 15th, and Farm & Ranch Appreciation Day on August 29th.
River Drive will be closed during the farmers market each week from Yellowstone Street to the Civic Center parking lot, which will remain open for farmers market parking. This is the same closure as last year and will help provide a safe area for pedestrians and bicyclists. It will also allow the market to expand into and across the road.
Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers will be available at Western Sustainability Exchange’s booth on June 27th until supplies run out.
