Following January 17th–20th, enjoy a night of dance and storytelling with Many Happy Returns. Show time is 8pm on Wednesday and Thursday, 6pm and 8pm on Friday, as well as 2pm and 8pm on Saturday.
Created by Robbie Saenz de Viteri and Monica Bill Barnes, Many Happy Returns is like a memory play, if memory plays had more dances. There is language. There is movement. There is the possibility that it’ll never be this way again. And there’s the possibility that it will always be the same. The Monica Bill Barnes & Company began with a suitcase of costumes and a collection of solos that could be performed anywhere. Since the company’s inception in 1997, founder Monica Bill Barnes has worked with numerous artists and performers, including long-time collaborators/designers Jane Cox and Kelly Hanson and performer Anna Bass, in developing relatable work with a subversive sense of humor.
Late this month, experience a tribute to the Man in Black with Johnny Cash – The Official Concert Experience on Wednesday, January 31st. The show begins at 7:30pm.
The performance brings songs and stories from Cash to the stage in a way that audiences haven’t seen or heard before. Expertly blending projections of the legendary singer with a live band and singers accompanying him in perfect sync. This concert experience will showcase Cash’s iconic performances and highlight the spirit of the legend by revisiting some of his memorable words and anecdotes. Cash will perform some of his biggest hits, including “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire,” and “I Walk the Line,” and share stories of people he met along the way whose causes he championed, namely working men from all walks of life. Plus, onstage male and female singers will split vocal duties performing their own takes on Cash hits.
