This summer, West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce will present six nights of FREE outdoor live music in Pioneer Park, located at the corner of Highway 20 and Canyon St. Music in the Park is a treat for visitors, where they can experience the old fashioned pleasure of music flowing across the town during this summer concert series. Bring your blankets, chairs and the whole family to enjoy the live entertainment. Come soak up the sound and take in a beautiful Montana sunset! Here’s a look at the upcoming festivities.
Opening performances by Zech & Spicy Dave and the Tessy Lou Williams Band will precede The Powell Brothers as part of the Fourth of July Celebration on Thursday, July 4th. The music will begin at 5pm following a day of special activities, breaking for the Fourth of July Parade at 6pm, followed by the headlining show. The Houston-based country and Americana duo is fronted by brothers Taylor and Blake Powell. Their sound combines elements of folk-rock, rootsy soul and country, known for their high-energy shows. A spectacular fireworks display will end this day of celebration. Bring the whole family!
Later this month, Lies or Lullabies come to West for an incredible performance on Saturday, July 20th. Bo DePeña opens the 6pm show. The Colorado-based rock ensemble performs the music of Bryan Adams and John Cougar Mellencamp. The show will deliver all the hits audiences may remember from two of the best-selling artists of all time.
Opening a new month of shows is Tail-Hooked on Friday, August 2nd, with support from John Gospederek at 7pm. Singer/songwriter Zach Nytomt is making is mark in the Americana scene with his unique voice and soulful sound, naming artists like Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, Ryan Bingham and Amos Lee among his influences.
Following on Saturday, August 3rd, Petty tribute The Waiting perform at noon. The Bozeman-based roadhouse rock n’ roll band celebrates the music of Tom Petty. Expect a blend of his smash hits with the Heartbreakers, a sampling from his solo albums, and even some of his collaborations with the Traveling Wilburys, delivered with fiery live energy.
The following Saturday, August 10th, sees a return performance by Slamabama. Charlie Denison and Depot Hill open at 7pm. From the first note to the last encore, the energy and intensity of the band will have your undivided attention. These musicians’ incomparable stage presence can only be described as a uniquely perfect blend of country, rock and pop. Slamabama have built a reputation of unequaled stamina on stage as they seamlessly go from one song to the next, always keeping the energy and fun moving to ensure a thrilling concert experience for all.
Closing the summer series on Saturday, August 26th is Austin English. Sunsha406 open at 6pm. Building a fanbase with his dynamic vocals and songs authentic and infectious, the Texan country up-and-comer puts on an amazing show. His music is reflective of his rural upbringing but is as eclectic and diverse as the landscape where he was raised.
