Raise the curtain as Livingston’s Blue Slipper Theatre presents a staged reading of local artist and actor Aaron Schuerr’s original play In the Coolness of the Garden this month. The one-off performance will take place on Friday, May 8th, at 7pm. The local production is directed by Tessa Welch.
Take a walk in the garden and you might ask a few questions. Why would The Creator plant a fruit tree and expect a pair of naked innocents to abstain? How did Adam name all those animals, from aardvark to zebra? What if the lion is not meant to eat grass? Why is a talking serpent lurking in the garden? What if Eve just needs to get out of Eden? Peel back the fig leaves and what do you find?

Starring Kate Britton, Steph Burda, Mercy Simpson, August and Aaron Schuerr, a special Q&A will follow the reading with an opportunity to give feedback. A follow-up performance will also take place at 406 Cirque in Bozeman on May 9th at 7pm. Tickets available at the door.
Tickets for In the Coolness of the Garden are $15 for general admission and are available at www.blueslipper.org. Seating at the Blue Slipper, located at 113 E Callender, is limited. Please call (406) 222-7720 for more information. •
