Helena’s 710 Ashbury are back with a Grateful Dead Tribute on August 4th and 5th. The group will lay down all your classic Dead favorites both nights.
Louisiana rhythm & blues artist GeminiiDRAGON visits Chico for the first Sunday show this month on Aug. 6th at 7pm. A vocal dynamo, the Southern siren has channeled her love for the late 60s and 70s-era blues and AOR artists into a ferocious mix of blues rock soul. She draws inspiration from artists like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Albert King, Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Koko Taylor, Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, Janis Joplin, Fleetwood Mac, Cream, Led Zeppelin and the super group Arc Angels, among others.
BlackWater Band follow with back-to-back shows on Aug. 11th and 12th. The rock n’ roll variety group will have you off your feet and on the dance floor in no time, so take a swig of your preferred flavor and get that liquid motivation flowing.
The following Sunday features a solo show by Eddy J on Aug. 13th at 8pm. Known as “the guitar guy” by his audiences, this fella knows his way around an ax. Come check him out!
Get ready to hit the floor when Triggered take the stage Aug. 18th and 19th. The band performs an array of country and rock tunes. A morning soak will help ease the pain after a night up on your feet.
Chico gears up for the return of its Annual Neighborhood Block Party featuring www.TWANG on Sunday, Aug. 20th. The BBQ, beer and refreshments will be ready to order at 5pm, followed by the music and street dance at 6pm. The truck drivin’, heart breakin’, honky-tonk dance band has been offering up real country music to their fans for decades. These guys take no prisoners and leave nothing but happy dancers in their wake. Don’t miss their “real deal, premium country music” show!
Taking the stage Aug. 25th and 26th are Matt Wallin & His Nervous Breakdown. The frontman tells stories about the trials and hardships of farm life and oil boomtowns, to starting a family and following your own path. His debut album, Ravens, paints musical pictures with writing that reflects the character of Corb Lund, Waylon Jennings and Vic Chestnutt. Wallin’s music hits on ethereal parts of human life: love, connections and regret, all interwoven into the fabric of his artistry.
