Turkey Day race goes virtual, adds month-long Challenge events
Like most things these days, Bozeman’s favorite Thanksgiving tradition will take a different shape this year. Run or walk to support your neighbors in need while taking in breathtaking vistas during an expanded Huffing for Stuffing.
This annual heart-healthy, family-friendly event benefits HRDC’s Gallatin Valley Food Bank. The race is normally headquartered at Bozeman’s Museum of the Rockies each Thanksgiving morning, but has been modified to proceed as a virtual event in 2020. Funds raised from race registrations and supplemental donations support the Food Bank’s mission to improve food security in our community.
During the last 13 years, Huffing for Stuffing has amassed over $500,000 in donations. Thanks to community-wide support in all its forms, the Food Bank is able to fight hunger and feed families in the Gallatin Valley and beyond.
Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in a 1K, 5K or 10K on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26th, or Challenge Events throughout the month.
Wear this year’s shirt or a shirt from 10 years ago. Start from the comfort of your home. Dress up and walk or get your family in a group costume. Cheer on your friends with a cup of coffee and buy your miles! The goal is to hit the numbers of miles logged in 2019 – 12,336 – to show the resilience of our community. Prizes will be awarded for best costume, oldest Huffing for Stuffing t-shirt, most miles run from 8–10am, and more.
Visit https://2020.huffingforstuffing.com for additional information and to register. Follow the race on social media for Challenge updates and other announcements.
Though COVID-19 has compelled the race to innovate, one thing will remain the same: a commitment to raising critical funds so the Food Bank may continue to serve 3,000 community members every month. Embrace joy, community spirit and health, and continue to help those who struggle with hunger in our community with Huffing for Stuffing 2020! •
