Wyoming’s Tris Munsick, Dusty Pockets next up for MoM in Downtown Bozeman
The Downtown Bozeman Association is proud to present the 19th Annual Music on Main Summer Concert Series in historic Downtown Bozeman. Music on Main festivities will take place on Main Street between Rouse and Black Ave. on Thursday evenings through mid-August. The music begins at 7pm and runs until 8:30pm.
Take in some Cowboy State country before the fireworks! Visiting from Sheridan, Wyoming, Tris Munsick & the Innocents perform on Thursday, July 4th. The band plays dance music and covers a wide variety of songs ranging from barroom standards to more edgy original works, including new single “Tightrope” and others from albums Last Time I Leave and Dancehall Days. Munsick has shared the stage with the likes of Lyle Lovett, Cody Johnson, Gary P. Nunn, Suzy Bogguss, Eli Young Band, Blackhawk, and Casey Donahew, among others. If ‘real country’ is what you’re looking for, these fellas have your fix! An Innocents show is designed to keep people dancing, drinking, and having a good time from downbeat to last call.
Bozeman’s own Dusty Pockets follow on Thursday, July 11th. The band tells meaningful stories, delivered with grit, wrapped in beautiful melodies and driven by powerful grooves. Their self-invented genre, “recreational Americana,” is indicative of the band’s mission to make seriously good music and have fun at the same time. The Pockets’ debut release, Hard Line, is a ten-song album that cherry-picks from the band’s wide and growing catalog of original songs. Centered on a strong foundation of American musical traditions, Hard Line and the band’s live shows showcase a collection of tunes that scratch the itch for twang, soul, and rock n’ roll all at once.
Whitefish powerhouse Jameson & the Sordid Seeds is set for Thursday, July 18th. The rock, reggae, blues and soul band is known for its electric live performances and captivating songwriting. They perform mostly originals intermixed with covers by Paul Simon, Joe Cocker, Sublime and The Black Keys, smashing age and genre barriers to create a diverse cross section of listeners. Delivered with passion and soul, a Sordid Seeds performance is nothing but infectious. Their latest release, Me and Eugene, follows original albums Two Shoes in Mary’s Basement and I Walk Down Your Street.
Future Music on Main events this summer include Lauren Morrow on July 25th, Dead Winter Carpenters on August 1st, and The Rad Trads on August 8th. The Outer Vibe is set to close out the series on August 15th.
Bring the kids from 6:30–8pm for the Coca Cola “Kids’ Zone” on South Bozeman Ave. which will feature bouncy houses, hula hooping, and more! Grab a bite to eat from one of the many rotating food vendors, step into a few of the downtown stores that’ll be open late, and of course, enjoy outstanding live music from popular local and touring bands. While Music on Main features an open container waiver, attendees are reminded that NO glass and aluminum containers or coolers are allowed in the event area. These are smoke and vape-free, family friendly evenings. Please leave the pets at home.
Music on Main is a FREE community event hosted by the Downtown Bozeman Association and funded by its many generous business sponsorships. Please visit www.downtownbozeman.org to learn more about the 2019 series. •
