Tickets on sale now for Belgrade’s 2nd annual Battle of the Bands. Five original bands and five cover bands will take the stage and battle it out in front of a panel of celebrity judges and a packed house, Friday and Saturday, February 23rd and 24th. At the end of each night, one band will be crowned the winner. You, the audience will get to vote for your favorite, and the band with the most votes will earn the People’s Choice Award. This fundraising event, brought to you by the Panther Music Boosters, will benefit all music programs in the Belgrade School District.
“Last year’s battle was so much fun!” says Jessica van Garderen, Event Coordinator. “The bands were rockin’, fans were dancing, everyone had a great time, and we raised over $12,000 for Belgrade Music. I was really blown away by the talent up on stage. It was incredible!”
This year promises to be even better, with an upgraded sound and light system, thanks to the generous guys of Bluebelly Junction, and an extremely talented panel of celebrity judges, including grammy award winning producer Doc Wiley, Thad Beaty and Annie Clements of Grammy Award-winning Sugarland (Annie currently tours with Maren Morris), and Local favorite Jake Flemming of Pinky and the Floyd, to name a few.
On Friday, cover bands Scott’s Garage, Dead Man’s Pass, The Faux, As We Become, and Six Day Burn will take the stage, along with an exciting exhibition performance by Belgrade’s talented music teachers, the Hall Passes. Saturday night features an incredible lineup of original bands, including False Fiction, Logan Liebert & the Light Blue, J.A.D.E., The Scurry, and Tyran’t. The winner from last year’s battle, Liquid Gnar, will be back to round out the night.
