TWENTY–EIGHTH ANNUAL DEPOT RAILROAD SWAP MEET SET
FOR LIVINGSTON DEPOT CENTER, SAT. APRIL 28, 2018, 9-2
The Livingston Depot Center still has just a few tables left for its annual Railroad Swap Meet, which will be held Saturday, April 29, 2018, from 9:00 to 2:00. The Depot, once the historic Northern Pacific railroad station in downtown Livingston, today is home to both community cultural events and a museum during the summer season.
The Swap Meet is a traditional get-together for railroad enthusiasts and exhibitors from all around the western region. Vendors and swappers present railroad antiques, memorabilia, collectibles, books, photos, documents, artwork, model trains, tools, and almost anything with a railroad theme.
Three operating model railroads will all be up and running for this special event – N gauge, HO, and O.
“The swap meet is a fun way to bear the torch of Livingston’s railroad history,” said Laura McCarthy Cota, the Depot’s new executive director, “and we have a great variety of presenters lined up again.” She added, “I really look forward to visiting with all the vendors this year, old and new.” The Livingston Model Railroaders will also run their model trains in the Depot Baggage Room’s basement club space. Railfans also enjoy watching the trains passing regularly daily on the adjacent Montana Rail Link yard tracks, only a few feet away.
Admission is a $1.00 donation to the Depot, and kids under 10 are free. A few last-minute tables are still available to vendors and presenters; vendor setup will start at 7 a.m. For more information, those interested can contact the Livingston Depot Center at (406) 222-2300.
