What would you make if you had the tools, the space, and the know-how? Bozeman Makerspace is the perfect place to bring your ideas to life, and their Thursday evening Open Builds are great opportunities to get started. Stop by for three minutes or three hours to check out the facilities and meet other makers. If you have a small project you’d like to work on, feel free to bring it! Members will be on hand to talk about the organization, chat about tools, and show off some things they’re making. Open to the public, upcoming Builds are set for Thursdays, December 20th, 27th, and January 3rd from 6:30–9pm each evening.
The Makerspace will host a Firestarter Making Class on Friday, January 4th from 6:30–8:30pm. Make your own fire-starting kit for a winter sports survival kit or just for lighting a backyard bonfire for s’mores! The instructors will have a few variations of types of firestarter you can make, as well as some other small things to round out your kit.
This class is offered with a drop-in format – come by at any point within the listed times. There is no minimum age requirement, but makers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. This class is $10 for Makerspace members and $20 for non-members.
A FIKA Creativity Café follows on Saturday, January 5th from 9–10:30am. Attendees of the morning gathering will enjoy some simple imagination-provoking activities and conversation over coffee, tea, and some light breakfast snacks. This event is free for Makerspace members and $10 for non-members.
